The Bishop Auckland Project- The Missing Women

Leanne was asked to take part inThe Missing Women, is a community campaign commissioned by The Bishop Auckland Project helping to rewrite history, this time with Women in it!

She was asked to paint a portrait of Dinah from the biblical story of Jacob, she his daughter. It stands at 2 metres high a size that replicates  the famous Francisco de Zurbarán portraits of Jacob and his 12 sons. The painting now resides in Bishop Auckland Town Hall and a copy in Bishop Auckland Castle alongside paintings of her 12 brothers. Dinah's story is complex and in parts harrowing, she was raped at 15 years old.
