Portraits with Purpose

Portraits with Purpose is my way of using portraiture to tell real stories and create meaningful change. I work with charities, universities, hospitals, Family Hubs and community organisations to create portraits that celebrate people, raise awareness and give a human face to important issues. From breastfeeding and early years to homelessness, bereavement and lived experience, each project is built around the people at its heart — creating artwork that has a purpose beyond the canvas.

Breastfeeding the Brave
Portraits of love, strength and resilience

Eight intimate portraits. Eight families. Eight powerful stories of love, vulnerability and resilience.

Created for Breastfeeding the Brave by Lyndsey Hookway, Leanne’s portraits explore the experiences of families caring for medically complex babies and children, bringing a deeply human dimension to their stories.

Portraits with Purpose – Continuing Bonds

Can a portrait help us hold onto the connection we have with someone after they have died?

In collaboration with St Oswald’s Hospice, Leanne worked with 12 families to explore love, loss and the continuing bonds we share with those who are no longer with us.

Through portraiture, conversation and film, Continuing Bonds tells their stories and celebrates the people behind them.
